Students will learn skills they can use in any type of drama production. Stage presence, physical expression, spatial awareness, improvisation, and collaberative work will be incorporated. Technical skills such as stage management, set deisgn, and costume design will also be covered. There will be no time commitments outside of the regularly scheduled Wednesday co-op hours. (This all-ages Drama Skills class is designed to help students grow in confidence, creativity, communication, and stage presence through engaging theater activities and skill-building exercises. Rather than focusing on a full-scale production this year, the emphasis will be on developing foundational drama skills that will help prepare students for future performances and productions in coming years. Students will explore areas such as voice projection, expression, improvisation, character development, storytelling, movement, teamwork, stage directions, and audience awareness through games, exercises, and interactive activities. While the class may occasionally perform short skits, scenes, or small presentations, the primary goal is to build confidence and strengthen theatrical skills in a low-pressure, encouraging environment. This class is open to all ages and experience levels, making it a fun and welcoming space for students to grow creatively, learn collaboration, and become comfortable expressing themselves both on and off the stage.) This is a second semester only class.
